Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026. This page explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it — in plain language, not legal boilerplate.
Who we are
Canadian FAIT Research is an independent food allergy treatment education platform for families in British Columbia, Canada. We are not a clinic and do not provide medical care. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website.
What information we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us, through our forms:
- Name and email address, when you contact us or register for an information session
- Phone number, if you provide it when registering for a session
- Your general location (such as city), if you share it when registering
- Your child's age range and the general type of food allergy involved, if you share it when registering — this helps us tailor session content, and we never ask for or store a diagnosis, medical record, or health card number
- The content of any message you send us through the contact form
We do not collect payment information, medical records, or government ID numbers anywhere on this site.
Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- Respond to your questions or messages
- Register you for an information session and send you confirmation and reminder emails
- Understand, in general terms, who our sessions are helpful for, so we can improve them
We do not use your information for anything beyond these purposes without asking you first.
How it's stored
Form submissions are stored in a secure hosted database (Supabase). Confirmation and notification emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. Both providers encrypt data in transit and at rest. Access to this data is limited to the small team running Canadian FAIT Research.
We never sell your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any reason. We do not share it with third-party advertisers.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. It is built as a static website with minimal client-side scripting — just enough to run our forms and menus. If that ever changes (for example, if we add analytics), we will update this policy first.
How long we keep your information
We keep contact and registration information only as long as needed to respond to you, run the session you registered for, and follow up afterward, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights and how to request deletion
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and BC's Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete your information from our records
To make any of these requests, use our contact form and let us know what you'd like us to do. We'll respond as quickly as we can.
Children's information
This site is intended for parents and caregivers, not children. Any information about a child (such as an age range or allergy type) is provided to us by a parent or guardian, and is used only to help us tailor educational content — never shared publicly or with any third party.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to how we collect or use information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, please reach out through our contact form — we're glad to explain further.
